Which Cut of Steak Should I Order?
As one of the best restaurants in Highland Village, Texas, we are happy to offer some of the best cuts of meat around. If you’re in the mood for a steak, then you are in luck at Shoal Creek Tavern! But what cut is best for you and your tastebuds? Read on to learn more about some of our most popular cuts of meat:
Filet Mignon & Tenderloin
The filet is a favorite of many due to its buttery, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. This cut comes from a part of the cow that is rarely used, leaving it tender and lean. Filet is rarely a bad choice, but if you want something a little juicier, then opt for a cut with higher fat content.
New York Strip
The New York Strip steak is your classic, beefy steak that’s perfect for any day of the week. It won’t be as tender as a filet – or have the marbling of cuts like rib eye – but it does have wonderful meaty taste. Ours is USDA Prime, making each bite worth savoring.
Speaking of a rib eye, this is a meat lover’s dream! Those who crave a juicy taste with a ton of marbling, should go with a rib eye. Sure, it has a little extra gristle, but that’s part of the fun in eating it, right?
Many of our steaks at Shoal Creek are USDA Prime and are great served with one of our incredible sides. Grilled cheddar mashed potatoes, bacon green beans, and asparagus are perfect accompaniments to a Shoal Creek steak. You can also substitute out any side for the smoked bacon and hatch chili mac n’ cheese, and you won’t regret it!
